Display Energy Certificates (DEC Certificates)

Display Energy Certificates (DEC Certificates), are required for public buildings and those occupied by public authorities which have a total useful area greater than 1000m2 and provide a public service to a large number of people and are therefore frequently visited by those people (eg a school, hospital, government or local authority building).  

Whats a DEC

DECs show the actual energy usage of a building and, since 1 October 2008, need to be displayed. If you do not already have provision in hand to meet these requirements you will need to act now. Data Energy Services can carry out a survey to produce a DEC, which will consist of:

  • An on site visit with completion of assessment
  • Collection of digital evidence
  • Creation of DEC and Advisory Report
  • Registration and Lodgement of DEC and Advisory Report
  • Laminated A3 DEC and Advisory Report
