Report Summary:

Prices show sign of weakness

NBP Natural Gas & GB Power Market Movement

Prices fell once again week-on-week. All wider fuel considerations, with the exception of the Coal price, fell during the week with the starkest of (downward) movement seen once again in the Carbon market where there was a +3.00% price drop. LNG send out remained stable but well above the average seen so far in October thanks to cargo arrivals to the UK. Further cargo arrivals are due at the South Hook terminal in week commencing 22/10.    Whilst national demand rose, the impact of this was offset by falling demand in the power sector, a result of higher wind power output. By close of play Friday (19/10) the April-19 annual electricity and gas contracts closed -0.11% and +0.31% respectively.  Stronger falls were recorded in the October 19 12 and 24 month contracts.
