Report Summary:

Further price falls ahead

NBP Natural Gas & GB Power Market Movement

Prices continued to fall week-on-week. Brent, Carbon and Coal all fell during the week with the starkest of (downward) movement seen once again in the Carbon market where there was a +6.50% price drop. LNG send out rose to an impressive 47 MCM by Friday, over 50% higher than the same day in the previous week. Whilst demand from the household sector rose, the associated risk of this was more than offset by a very strong LNG send out, stronger flows of import gas through the Langeled and BBL gas lines and improved gas flows from the UK gas shelf or UKCS. In addition, expectations of warmer weather for w/c 05th November added to the bearish sentiment with demand forecasted to fall back also during this week.  By close of play on Friday (02/11) the April-19 annual electricity and gas contracts closed -2.44% and -3.82% respectively.
