Report Summary:

Energy prices and the Yo-Yo effect

week-on-week-changes

NBP Natural Gas & GB Power Market Movement

Prices ended the week higher overall, falling in the early of the week but gaining in latter half.  A higher oil price on Thursday was the main bullish driver with this commodity attaining highs not seen since early Q4-2018. This annulled the benefit of an easing Coal and Carbon prices. Household demand recovered 30.41% on cooler weather. UK and Norwegian gas flows from processing plants were both down week-on-week but both are expected to recompose in week commencing 29th April. LNG send out was unchanged, at 50 mcm.  By close of play on Friday (26th April) the October 2019 annual contracts for electricity and gas closed +0.27% and +0.48% respectively.
