How to submit a meter reading

Sending us a meter reading takes less than a minute. Choose whether it's an electricity or gas meter, take a clear photo of the display (on a phone this opens your camera straight away), type in the numbers you can see, and add a few details so we can match it to your account. That's it. The photo gives us a dated record to check the figures against, which helps avoid estimated bills and catch faulty or stuck meters early.

1

Photograph your meter

Snap the whole display or dial face. You can add a second photo of the serial number, which helps us confirm the right meter.

2

Enter the reading

Type the numbers left to right, ignoring anything after a decimal point or inside a red box.

3

Send it to us

Add your details and submit. You'll get an email confirming we've received your reading and photo.

Why send a photo?

A photo is a time-stamped record of exactly what the meter showed. It lets us verify the reading, query estimated charges with your supplier, and spot a meter that has stopped registering, all of which protect you from paying for energy you didn't use, or facing a large catch-up bill later.
