UK energy prices ended the week down overall. The Carbon and Oil price ended the week -2.56% and -1.80% when compared to the previous week though the Coal price gained. Demand from the domestic sector rose week-on-week but the higher consumption, a result of less warmer weather, was more than met by healthier supplies from Norwegian gas flows and a much stronger LNG send-out. By close of play on Friday (03rd May) the October-2019 annual contracts for electricity and gas closed lower -3.91% and -4.61% respectively: back to price points not seen since the beginning of April 2019 therefore at 1-month lows.
